Dang, the Apple watches look mighty fine!

You're talking about looking for an app on iOS right? You don't need to swipe through all the screens, you can just search for it using (Spotlight?)

I'm talking about the Gear 2. I'm familar with iOS...

Derp. Don't know why I thought it was about iOS lol
With so many similar threads it's hard to stay focused! I replied about Wear before realising it was Samsung-specific. And AC threads never stray off topic. ;)

So not a single one of you get aggravated at navigating through a bunch of screens to find the icon you are looking for? With just 4 icons per screen, it's maddening to me to flick, flick, flick, flick...until I get to the screen that contains the icon I'm after.

Just order the icons on the most used ones. If you have more than 8 apps you use daily, then you have to swipe just 3 times.

Need more icons on less screens. I am often in situations where I need to quickly access a particular application and I can't be fiddling around trying to find the icon

I just installed an application that will help me out until somebody gives us more icons per screen. It is called "all apps launcher" and provide a list of apps to launch which are arranged in alphabetical order.. I put this app on my shortcut screen

I add the main 8 apps I want to the home screen, then moved the pages so that one page of 4 icons is to the left of the time, and one page of 4 icons is to the right of the time.

Also, I thought the Apple Watch design looked like an offshoot of the iPhone 3g devices.

Well, I have five home screens with the apps ordered by subject. It is easy, each frequently used app is reachable with just a few swipes. I only have to search when I am looking for an app that is not on a home screen.

I have only 3 homescreens, so I only need to swipe once to the right, once to the left. SVoice is on the main homescreen (shortcut screen), so I use it to open the other remaining apps I don't use often.

About the Apple Watch, that knob or Digital Crown is totally unnecessary since there is no need to zoom on an already small screen. Not intuitive like swipes, touchscreens, or voice commands.

The 4 apps per screen on the Gear2 is perfect, not too small and jumbled with other apps. The new GearS seems to have 6 apps per screen cuz of its longer curve screen.

I use about 2x as many apps as you do. :)
So, which do you use frequently? I keep EasilyDo, Gear Tasks, Endomondo, settings, Media Controller, Smart IR Watch Lite, Trainr, and News Republic on my 8 frequently used.

I'm not much of an Apple product fan, but the Apple Watch does look very impressive--especially the interface. I DESPISE how clunky the interface is on the Gear, primarily due to the limitation of just 4 measly icons per screen. That's just lame and what bugs me the most about my watch.

Apple has raised the bar, IMO. Samsung, time to step up your game.

Does it really matter if you have S Voice as one of your shortcuts? You can launch anything from there. The iWatches look ok but honestly, I like the look of all the Gear watches but obviously that's personal opinion. The one area I think Gear stands out is it's band (the clasp). I hate buckle type bands. I think Samsung's is very comfortable. You seen how many people complain about how the Gear watches only work on Galaxy phones but I'm willing to bet no one is going to complain about iWatch only working on iPhones. That's because Apple has everyone believing that's how it should be for Apple and no one questions it. Personally I see no problem with each manufacturer doing that. Why would I make something that works with everything else if I can have people have to get my product to use it? No brainer but I guess until Apple does it, it isn't right. Anyway, I'll stick with Sammy and the Gears. Still like them better.

You do know that Android Wear only works with Android devices right? Why should Apple have to make it compatible with other OS's; they want you as heavily invested in their ecosystem as possible.

Yeah, I think it's given away by the name ANDROID Wear. ;)

Clitrenta was drawing an parallel between people complaining about the exclusivity of the Gear watches, and those same people just accepting the closed ecosystem of Apple. (ie. "Wow! Samsung is crippling their sales by only marketing their watches to people with Galaxy phones!" and "Of course Apple's watch only works with Apple! Why should they open it up to other OS's?!?") Pretty easy for me to see the hypocrisy....

They always do! but with Apple you have to wait and pay $$$! Dearly for it!, one other thing is that it is NOT free from problems, only that if you have a problem you have a place to go where Samsung does not have a Genius anything?.... and why you pay $$$$ extra for it, I have the same with my Porsche of any little problem?, I have a loaner brought to me wherever I am for the $$$$ extra I paid for it... so it's all relative I guess?
