Darker screen with pop ups

It was hard to give a topic that made sense. When my phone is not in use, if someone tests me or I get a notification (besides the sides lighting up), the notification is so dark. It's almost like a shadow. What setting have I missed, messed up or am I the only one lol

I don't have it as always on display, I'm weird like that. Just the ol black lock screen when not in use.

Well this is the best I could do. It doesn't do it justice and let's just say it's lighter then this. If the phone is in use it's vibrant and as it should be.

Assuming this not stock wallpaper have you tried the stock one see if it is still an issue?

Do you use Good lock, module lockstar,?

I use good lock but so does my husband and his phone is as bright as the sun when notifications come up. I'll turn it off to test though.

No apps. I use stand what is offered on the phone. (I'm boring lol)
