Darker 'translucent' Lines When I Change Brightness On My Galaxy S7 Edge

I have this dark line problem. Is it me or has this problem come about since last samsung up date or is it just a coincident. Since the last up date freezing and dark lines across screen . Let me no if I am not the only one who thinks this

Nope the latest update has nothing to do with it, the real cause of this is probably that there is a defect on a certain s7 edge's. Mine fixed itself after 6 months of using it on full brightness so that the lines wont appear, had to charge my phone up to 3 times a day though.

Guys, so I've dealing with this problem for 6 months now, and today the phone went back to normal, I don't know if it has something to do with it but that's what I've doing:

Switched the screen resolution to HD (I'm running 7.0) for a few weeks.
Unninstaled Snapchat and Facebook.

I think this piece of **** will get the dark lines soon but let's see...

Oh and I've switched the Resolution back to QHD to see how it goes

My phone just fixed itself like 2 months ago and never came back, after also 6 months of having the dark translucent lines.

also had this issue (starting, give or take, two months ago) with my sm-g935f variant. read that it fixed itself after a few months, so i waited. a few days ago it did. hopefully it will never return, but considering it's also been said that this is possibly/probably a hardware defect, i am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey guys.. I have the exact same problem woke up this morning with these dark thick lines.. well my hubby isn't gonna be happy as it's his phone 📱 Haven't told him yet 😭 does anyone know how to fix this problem

Hellow , my s7edge starting doing this after last firmware update , the spots change when adjusting brightness, i attached a photo of the issue , can any1 relate or has it fixed ?

So my wife's phone just started doing this the other night. And guess what? It's out of the one-year warranty. Looks like I'm SOL unless I can con Samsung into helping us out. Oh, and we're still paying on AT&T Next for it, too!

There's nothing on the photo. Suggests it's a hardware issue.

I had the same problem 2 days ago samsung confirmed it is a hardware problem, only solution replace screen and some graphic chip.
I took my phone to my provider Optus I am in Australia and they refused to repair my phone because there was a slight crack in the screen which happened 12 months ago. They told me it is no longer under warranty cos of the crack..
This is a false and misleading Optus policy because by Australian law unless the damage (cracked screen) caused the grey lines it IS still under warranty.
This is an illegal and deliberate tactic Optus uses in all its stores to avoid fixing phones under warranty regardless of the problem.
Unable to convince the store manager that the crack did not cause the problem I rang TIO Telecommunication Industry Ombudsmen 1800 062 058.
They confirmed my rights contacted Optus and within a surprising 5 hours I got a call from Optus requesting me to take the phone back to the store and they will fix it at their expense.
I would like to thank Optus for its quick and respectful response but thay need to look into the instructions they give their store managers in regards to voiding warranties it is false, misleading and against the law to refuse to fix a phone just because the screen is cracked.

After passing 4 months period with grey lines on my s7 edge's screen, yesterday i awared that grey lines all gone. I mean, i've did nothing to fix. It fixed itself by itself:)

Hi all, so I got the same problem as you all. I had it for about 2 months and it went away for about 4 months. I just got it again today and saw someone say something about the light sensor. I turned my phone off and cleaned the light sensor (at the top of the phone). When i turned it back on, the lines were gone. I dont know if this helped to fix the problem, but it is worth a shot.

Hi. I experienced the same. I did have 3 dark stripes on my screen, like 2 months ago or something. I have been using it with those lines on my S7 edge screen, and the lines somehow disappeared last week. I did nothing to fix, either. I am kinda perplexed now cos I thought it was a hardware defect, rather than software, but it recovered by itself. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is crazy. I mean, I don't even tell when my phone is going to be messed up with the lines again in the future.

Listen everybody I just fixed this f-issue, i dont know if this will work for everybody and Im not sure what I did exactly, but I lived with this problem for more than a year and today its completely gone. The only thing out of normal that I did was reseting the configuration back to default. I did this like 3 hours ago and just now I noticed that the problem is solved.
Give this a try and if this works be sure to let all of us know
