I've found that I've had to use the Samsung supplied cable to get the S2 to connect to my Windows 7 box. No other cable I've tried works. However, on a macbook, I've used a number of different cables with Android file transfer. Anyone know what's so special about the Samsung cable on a PC?

well there could be a different impedances between different cables, thus providing different currents to the device?

Sure. Just wondering if anyone else is having success on a Windows box with cables other than the Samsung supplied one.

I'm running Windows 7 on my desktop, and I just attached my new S2 8.0 to it via the same cable I've had hooked up to the computer for years -- and it works just fine. Upon closer inspection, I see that it's a Belkin cable, and I expect it's going through a powered hub that's buried somewhere in the mass of cables and such behind my computer desk.
