Data Connection problem after OTA update.

Humm, Just had an issue with the smart action not reactivating data. Going to have to play with it some more.

I just call VZW tech support for the same issue, and they told me to go to Settings->Data Manager (turn off your smart actions first) and set data as on, and then go in to Global data roaming access and set it for Allow access for all trips. Now go and reactivate your Smart Actions.

Just keep in mind that you set it that way if you ever leave the US, as the phone will roam with out asking you again. You also don't get data connection back instantly, it takes about 10-20 seconds. So far, with limited testing I am having no trouble with getting my data connection back. YMMV

Just did this this morning so far all good. Hope it stays.

I have been having a heck of a time with this issue on my bionic. long story short, I am on 3rd replacement now, and have a follow up scheduled tomorrow, and will probably be getting a razr instead (hoping for a maxx but we'll see i guess). Anyhow, when i called into tech support last night for the first time, i was informed of an app for each manufacturer (moto, LG, samsung etc) that had been published as early as yesterday (08/15) that were suppose to help with exactly that problem. I will post the link below from google play. I cannot download the app because the app only supports ICS and JB from what i can tell. I dont know anyone else with an ICS device that i speak to regularly or else i would have already tested it with theirs. Give it a shot, and shoot in a reply about whether it has helped or not. Hopefully!

I've had issues with 4g and 3g dropping out for no reason as a daily occurrence. This is actually my third razr, first one I broke the screen which had survived countless falls very when the screen was stepped on and it was a very sad day. That razr had no connection problems and I loved it for months. I had a warranty so I got a brand new one which although it worked well for a while began to have many data issues when I came home from college. Where I live is(according to the Verizon reps I've spoken to online) on a border where 4g coverage meets 3g. It has always switched back and forth even in my house but its something I know I can live with. Then I would be sitting down using the internet and suddenly as I click on a link there's no longer any connection. Not even a min later its back and working fine but this same thing occurred countless times and then it began happening even when i wasnt at home. So i was sent a factory refurbished model and it is still doing the same thing. The app that Motorola released works for about 10 mins and then i lose connection again. Its frustrating and it seems as there's no fix because I've also been sent a new Sim card and that did nothing. its something in the phone and as much add i love my RAZR I'm looking into ways for a new phone without posting the huge fees for the contracts anyone have any ideas or tips that may solve the problem? Or is it something Verizon and motorola failed on once again
