Is anybody else having data problems today (January 20). I have gray bars in my signal indicator and it does not say it is connected to 3G. Weatherbug, email, gmail, and my twitter accounts are all not upating either. I have pulled my battery, turned airplane mode on and off and nothing has done anything. I was just wondering if anybody else was having the same experience today.

I live in Manhattan, KS which is not in 4G coverage but i usuaully always have good 3G reception. I've noticed lately that when I have Wi-Fi on I get blue bars on everhthing but when i turn Wi-Fi off it goes back to gray bars with no indication of 3G.

I've been told by a VZW "2nd tier" rep that the color change simply indicates if data is actively moving between the device and the network. Blue = data moving, gray = no data moving.

I don't know if we're saying the same thing, but my understanding was the bars changing to blue means you are connected to Google services and is usually an indication of data connection working. I see little black arrows on the signal bars indicating when data is moving (sending and receiving).

Sent from the Nexus Galaxy far away...

You are correct. The color change is only to show connection to Google. You could have grey 3g and use all things like normal just might be sketchy with Google services but the chance of having data without blue is very rare. My 3g is working well in Lubbock, Texas.
