Hello my name is Ray,
Now that I have no connection to Wi-Fi, I'm having a terrible time learning how to save on data.I have an LG K20 Plus, the android version says 7.0.
Missy of the info I've gathered doesn't open up on my phone as stated. Any help for me to minimize my total data usage would be appreciated.
Thank You,
Ray

Welcome to the forums, Ray! If you go to your Settings and then to your Mobile Data settings, you should be able to physically place a data limit from that screen. Your phone should prompt you when you are close to and then meeting your data limit. Let us know if you need any further assistance!

Welcome to Android Central! The above are two good suggestions. In addition:

1. Go to Settings>Data Usage and look for a Restrict Background Data or Data Saver option.
2. If you use Chrome, go to its settings and turn on Chrome's Data Saver.
3. Open each app you use and look in its menu for options to automatically refresh data -- turn those all to manual, or the longest interval possible.
4. Also look for options within app menus to limit data usage to wi-fi (even if you don't have wi-fi at home, you should still be able to find open public wi-fi hotspots when you're away from home).
5. You can always toggle off mobile data yourself when you're not actively using the phone, and toggle it back on when you're ready to use it. Some phones have this as a native toggle in the Quick Settings, but for others, you might have to install a 3rd party toggle widget from the Play Store.

In addition to all the above, open each app and tap on mobile data. Turn off the background data usage like in this screenshot...

I also have Adguard on my devices, this blocks ads but also has a great firewall! With that I block all app I don't want to connect without mercy!
You can separate WiFi from mobile data

Hello and welcome Ray, enjoy the forums!

I see you've received several answers with how to save data.
Many apps nowadays, like Facebook for example, have a way to help you save data in their settings.
So look into the settings of your apps too just in case.
