When I reboot into recovery and choose Advance / Wipe Davlik Cache I see this message:
CMW-based Recovery v4.0.1.5
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]

I can go and clear the cache but I would like to know what that error means as I cannot access my music or photos via the music player and gallery respectively. I can play/view via a file manager so I know my data is still there.

Any ideas?

From what I understand...

The [/sd-ext] folder is an optional folder that you can create on your sd-card if your phone doesn't have enough internal storage. It would treat this folder as if it was additional internal storage. As our phones have plenty of internal storage, this is not necessary. When you wipe dalvik cache, it checks this location and tries to wipe it along with the other location(s) that it wipes. So basically, no biggie.

As for the music player and gallery not showing your music and photos... I'm not sure what the issue is there.

This is good to know and now something else I learned. Thanks!

I figured this one out all on my own.... and the reason is because I am an idiot! I was messing around with the stock CM7 file manager and there is an option to exclude a directory from the media scan and so I did. Once you do that then your data in that folder is not available to the native programs.
