So my phone died. I plugged it in, and it tried booting up. Because it's got 0% battery, it died. (repeat over and over again)

Help? I can't boot into recovery like I wanted to before it died.

Hold button down already, and boot into recovery when plugging in. Or maybe E mode, OR offline?

I got it! It took a few tries. When I plug the phone in, it immediately tried to boot up but didn't have the juice so it just kept on trying to boot and shutdown and repeat. I got it, though.

The phone will run on just being plugged in if you pull the battery

Hey I have a exact same problem here. My battery is dead and whenever I try to charge the phone by plugging it to a charger, it displays LG logo, and restarts itself continously, over and over again. Cannot pass beyond the LG logo. I purchased a new battery but even it doesn't work. LG logo keeps flashing, same problem. I didn't do anything to the phone. Only texts, phone calls, and web surfing. Tried everything that were mentioned above - battery, sd card, home+vol down+power (shows lg logo again even before it displays recovery screen) etc. wickedninja, or anyone, please help me. Thanks in advance.
