Dawwww....Just as I give up the Optimus S and give it to my fiance. I may try and talk her into switching with my Palm Pre...Hrm...

thats funny. i was just reading something this morning on how the palm pre was like the number 1 returned device for sprint or something.

Hotspot Widget problem

I cannot figure out why the hotspot widget will not work on my phone. I have the Lego Rom, Deluxe Buildprop, my computer says it is connected, but that I have no internet access, it worked on my phone before lego, with stock and Thunderom...wireless tether works, but I prefer how easy the widget is, when it works...any ideas? I am enjoying the rom and the wallpaper choices in lego, thank you in advance for any help.

Usually it takes a little while for the WiFi to be connected. For mine it usually needs around 1-2 minutes to fully get an IP and Internet access.

I tried waiting for the hotspot widget, because I had read that you wrote that. But even after 10 minutes, there was no change, still connected with my computer, but saying no internet access...thank you for the suggestion, but I seem to have a different issue, and it started when I installed lego...

Not entirely sure if this is a ROM issue, but did not have this as an issue in ThundeROM - Google Shopper FC's when you try to do image-based searches.

I had Lego and had no issues with WiFi Hotspot. Anyhow, are you getting an IP when your computer is connected to your phone? Have you tried pinging some sites?

Major props to 3 amigos, this is an outstanding project. Thanks so much for all the hard work.
I've tried the Acceleration/JIT and Acceleration only and from my observation Accel seems to be the faster of the two. What is everyone else's observation?

The one question I have is can/should we be using some form of task killer or cache cleaner with this ROM? If so what do you recommend?

Thank you for the suggestion, it was an error on my part with switching back and forth between home wifi and tethering, got it all figured out now. Also, how do I bypass the update Sprint released today? I have only been rooted for about a week and ran stock before that, so new to this...I am sure this has been asked somewhere, I did a search and only could find where people have updated and lost their root.

The palm pre was where I started my odyssey... (that was 4 phones ago now... but that's a different story)

While I like the card based UI... I wouldn't go back.

Thanks for the ROM option. Collaboration always produces something greater than the sum of it's parts!

Sorry for the cross-post, but just noticed that I posted this in the TR thread, even though I'm now using Lego ROM (not sure that it matters, but figured it should be in the right spot). Any insight would be appreciated. Original post:

"So, I accidentally hit "More Information" on the Update prompt screen (update just showed up about an hour ago). It didn't install thankfully, but now there's an icon up in the Notification bar that won't go away, and it never gives me the choice to "Install Later" again. Ugh. Is there any way to get rid of this icon? Can I manually delete the update file by clearing the cache with Recovery? Any ETA on an update for this or Lego in order to keep these update notifications at bay?

Thanks."

ummmm going into recovery and clearing cache might work. I'm not 100% sure. I have no way of testing though because I unrooted, put lg recovery back on, updated my phone then re-rooted, put custom recovery back on.
