still no google apps.

Which apps do you need? Market? Anything else? Nick helped me with Market a page back.

Ugh what a PITA. This script to remove previous versions is making it act flakey.

Just open up ES file explorer, go to menu -> settings root options, and check both boxes (use HIAPK style). Then navigate to /system/app and click on market and/or maps (depending on what isn't installed). This will re-install them from /system/app.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll get a fix for that.

The Market app is called "com.android.vending-2.apk" or something like that.

Also, for some reason, after enabling root options on ES file explorer, using it, and then closing it, when I reopen it I get "SD card not present" and it won't do anything, so if you get that error too, this is how to fix it. I have to clear cache and data for ES File Explorer under "manage applications-> All" for it to work again...(other file explorers find my sd card just fine)...

Actually all you have to do is uncheck the root boxes before you close ES or once you get the error on reopen.

For anybody having bootloops with v1.6.3:

1. Flash v1.6.2
2. Let boot - reboot to recovery.
3. IMPORTANT: Do NOT wipe anything.
4. Flash v1.6.3
5. Enjoy.

I am unsuccessfully trying to restore a Nandroid backup that I performed yesterday. The backup has nRom on it. The rom that is currently on my phone is ThundeROM.

After I restore the backup in recovery, I select to reboot the system, and it begins booting up, then freezes at the boot screen that says "android."

I never see the screen that says "nROM."

I can get back to recovery from here, but the same thing happens if I try to reboot.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Try the steps in my last post, those should get you up and running. Here is the nROM v1.6.2

I flashed 1.6.2, then rebooted and it booted up with no problems. I then rebooted into recovery and restored my backup. After restoring I restarted and it is now stuck at the android screen again.

Maybe my nandroid backup is bad?

Edit: should I have wiped before flashing 1.6.2?

No nandroid backups lol. That will achieve nothing. Follow the steps in my previous post and flash v1.6.3 after v1.6.2

Let me know how it goes for you.

Have you figured out what is causing the issue between 1.6.2 and 1.6.3? Just wondering if a fix will be included for the next ROM...thanks again for the awesome work!

Yeah it is the IQ agent removal. The system gets upset when it doesn't have its IQ agent.

Alright. Thanks. My original problem was not being able to restore a backup. I was hoping that this would help me.

So in the future, if I do a nandroid backup with 1.6.3 will I be able to restore it?

Oh well you could just write the data.img from your nandroid and be good.

I dont mind the 2 rom flash if thats what it takes to get rid of IQ. For me this is still one of the roms. Love the lcd density and now IQ being gone leads this rom to the top. Thanks for all the awesome work!!!

Just an FYI. The AOSP ROMs do not have the IQ crap in them.
