Managed to drop my phone and bust the screen, still powers on and I can still unlock it with my fingerprint but when I connect it via USB it doesn't show up as a media drive on my computer (I'm assuming it's not set to usb mode).

In short could someone upload a series of screenshots showing the screen from power button on the side being pressed to wake up the screen, all the way through to usb mode selection so I can try to press the right area on the screen to try and get my pc to recognise my phone and recover all the data off it before I send it for repair?

Did you set up Android Device Manager? With it you can erase your phone remotely from your PC.

If you didn't, never mind.

I dont think i did, and would that allow me to recover the data or just erase it? realised i worded it poorly in the original post. I'm trying to recover all the data on it.

If it's been 12 months, max, since you bought the phone then you can use the "UH OH!" service to have the screen replaced for free from HTC. Go to their site and look it up in the Support page.
