Dead screen on S4, need to move contacts to S6 Active

My friends new dog bit the phone and broke the screen, as in dead. She got a new S6 Active, but AT&T said they couldn't move the contacts. The phone itself works, and I can see it on a laptop. I can't find the contacts. No, she didn't back it up, and didn't have an SD card.

It looks like I need Kies 2.6 to get the contacts off the S4, SmartSwitch won't work on that old of a model. But it looks like Kies 2.6 won't work on the new S6. Or is there a way to pull it with 2.6, and move it to Kies 3.0 to talk to the S6?

Or something better? Like a handy .vcf or vCard file.

Back up the S4 using Kies and load the backup file using SmartSwitch may work
