Ok... I got this to work. It says android version 2.3.4... I don't see the tweaks. Where can I get a kernael so I can at lease overclock the cpu.

Its very buggy. Internet from the default browser doesn't work.. and I can't change the font with absolute system. Or update the su on superuser. I've gone back to stock as I have no issues with it.

This is pure stock and has no bugs. If you want OC someone needs to build a kernel. Sorry you had issues but I know plenty it works fine for.

the reset menu is pwr vol up and home or vol down safe mode is the same except it is the square menu button

This is a stock image. I did nothing special. This is a starting point for anyone that wants to develop for the Optimus Q. As you can see there isnt many Optimus Q users based on the thread count.... Feel free to do what you will with this. Optimus Q also comes stock running 2.3.7. Do you even really have an Optimus Q ryan?

If ur talking the one from straight talk I can assure u it comes stock with 2.3.4. I've had the phone for months. The rom works but what's the point of building from here? Why not just use our files directly from the phone. And how when I flash this it says on about phone android version 2.3.4? All I want is to update this stupid firmware. There is nothing interesting about it. Can u direct me where to take the dirty alpha to further customize?

This ROM is a stock ROM from the Straight Talk LG Optimus Q, running 2.3.4. Jon just got some things crossed up. Please DO NOT bash anybody for simple mistakes. It happens.

The point of this ROM is so that other enterprising developers have a good stable base to build from.

Want to make it interesting? Do it yourself, because this is a STOCK ROM.
Which brings me to my next point. There are PLENTY of self-help resources available on various websites. If you want to further customize this ROM, you are absolutely encouraged to do so.

Furthermore, the next person that bashes, makes fun of, or otherwise offends someone for making a simple error will get reported. Remember that AndroidCentral is a place for people to give and receive information and help, NOT a place to start a flame war.

Wow .... looks like i missed all the fun. Probably better that way anyhow cause I'm not shy and not afraid to offend

I happen to be friends with jon but don't think that has anything to do with my next statement .... if i see anyone acting like an idiot to anyone, even if i don't know any of the involved parties, I will interject myself. I guarantee there are few people on this site (jon being one of the exceptions) that can match my knowledge and enthusiasm for Android. Keep that in mind when you think someone is asking a stupid question because i promise i can dig up an example of you asking something i consider less than difficult.

Thank you jon, for spending time contributing to the community of a phone which you don't even own. Your effort is appreciated.

Let's all hug it out, lessons learned, and one of you guys with a Straight Talk Optimus build a damn custom ROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried to manually install it, but I just can't :/

I'm curious as to which CPU governor this ROM uses too?

This is pure stock. If you want busybox etc, I would NEED to have this device. Not that I would use it as my daily, but its way too hard to make sure everything is working right and proper. I wont ever be able to dev for you guys til this happens.

I have a higher standard for my own work and cant in my right mind put out a full fledged ROM for a community knowing that I haven't even run it. Its kinda a rule I go by for myself as well... if a Developer doesn't have the phone... how much can u really trust its legit. Just my .02.

So if anyone has an extra feel free otherwise sorry, you guys will have to take my base and run with it.
