Dead Thumbnail Issue

Whenever I delete any media from the gallery and later when I go to the WhatsApp to browse the gallery I see dead thumbnails as attached. How to fix it. Please advise.

Thats because whatsapp still has pointers to all those photo's linked to in various text threads. you should be deleting them via whatsapp or just leave them there.

Clearing the cache didn't help. Should I try clearing the data?

I'm not sure what that does to any saved messages (I don't use WhatsApp), but I would guess that your message threads should be on the WhatsApp server and sync back, so it should be ok to clear the app data.

It's is happening only with 2nd WhatsApp account. I use two WhatsApp on my phone (Dual Apps by Samsung).

I wonder if that has anything to do with it, since that kind of dual app account feature isn't widely available (so maybe the developer doesn't know how to handle it well). did you already try clearing the app data along with the app cache?
