According to the link below it is the X70 since it is part of the overall SoC:

"The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 uses Snapdragon X70 5G Modem-RF System for mobile networks (like 5G compatibility), while the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 on the chip handles its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities."

how ever that report was from nov 18th 2022 it makes me wounder if the new phones really do have the x70 modem and the new wifi 7 has the leak say they where going to have but right now samsung is not saying much on that part on there website if it has wifi 7 or just wifi 6E

Here is a CNET article (linked below) from this afternoon that states that the S23 Ultra has it:

"Samsung didn't include the capability to connect over satellite in the new Galaxy S23 series even though it packs the two big components needed for Snapdragon Satellite: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and the Snapdragon X70 5G modem. Since Qualcomm's feature requires phones to be designed with Snapdragon Satellite in mind, it seems like Samsung passed on building the feature into its S23 phones from the ground up.

When CNET Senior Editor Lisa Eadicicco asked T.M. Roh, Samsung president and head of mobile experience business, why the S23 series didn't include satellite texting, he explained that its functionality is too limited to include in this round of Galaxy phones.

"When there is the right timing, infrastructure and the technology [is] ready, then of course for Samsung Galaxy, for our mobile division, we would also actively consider adopting this feature as well," Roh told CNET through an interpreter. "

I sure hope it's the X70 modem! We should have definitive proof soon, likely before the pre-orders ever ship.

And I wonder if they have the ability to activate Wi-Fi 7 in a future firmware update. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to be ratified in early 2023.

This Samsung S23 spec list (at the link below) states that it covers the 6 GHz band:

Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax 2.4G+5GHz+6GHz, HE160, MIMO, 1024-QAM
Up to 2.4Gbps Download / Up to 2.4Gbps Upload

To be honest, Wifi7 is probably not going to be useful anywhere before you decide to trade in this phone. Wifi6 really is still trying to take hold, and Wifi 6E is still uncommon, or even rare.

My Fold 3 (and I am sure the S32U will as well) support my WiFi 6e and I get damn near the same speeds on my WiFi as I do Wired, so, I am pretty happy with what I have now.
