Deal: Switching to Sprint gets you free unlimited for a year!

Not bad for those who have good Sprint coverage around them :).

Which is nearly everyone. Everyone trashes Friends Network in it's actually really good. I can't believe they're giving away free service for a year that's the really dumb business policy I

I wouldn't say nearly everyone. My area they aren't so great. My friends on Sprint rely on my hotspot when we go out to bars and such.

Carriers are very location dependent and it depends where they live/work.

not a bad deal. I would take them you ok it if they would let me use my Sprint prepaid phone. it says it's not eligible, oh well still a good deal for those that can take advantage of it

I wonder how is it a profitable idea to give away free service for a year. What in the world is that. Makes me a little bit worried about Sprint and their future. I have Sprint I consider them to be a quality service but I'm worried they may not be around forever.

Sounds like true and total desperation to me will be stupid and dumb and retarded to give away free service for a year. Does this mean every customer that comes into the Sprint store they're giving free service to. I guess they really want to go bankrupt or something.

You have to do it online, but it is indeed free for a year, you just pay taxes (about $22/month for 2 lines for me). I think the thought is that once you have the service and see how good it is you will keep the service. I will be switching back to Cricket after a year, but it will save me about $700 in the meantime compared to Cricket/Straight Talk like I have now (I have cricket and my wife has Straight Talk with Verizon SIM). Also used my friend's name as a referer and we both get a $100 visa card. So basically saves me $800 for a year.

What you don't seem to get is that people that take advantage of this deal will, most likely, buy a new phone on a payment plan. That now gives sprint another year of PAY service. And most of those customers, if they're happy, will stay with sprint. It's like a "lost leader " at a supermarket. They'll sell strip steaks at a loss to get you in, knowing that you'll need to buy the salad stuff, potatoes, other veggies, steak sauce and so on. .

I see what you're saying but still free service for a year. All the other carriers are charging. So why is that. Also your the carrier's actually make any money whenever you buy a new device. Meaning if I was to go and buy an essay today with Sprint profit on that or just Samsung. My understanding from before was that they bother device from the manufacturer and they just sell it to you I don't think they profit on the sale of the device. Maybe I'm Wrong

It's a free service to deal to attract customers. Nothing more to the equation.

Yeah I guess so but I still think that is interesting that T-Mobile still attracts plenty of new customers but they charge you 70 bucks a month two for the privilege of their Network. By the way Sprint's network is not any worse than T-Mobile's actually I think it's a little better. Someone will probably argue with me on that

All I know for sure is that I'm happy with Sprint and I will never leave unless the bill goes to a point to where I can get a cheaper bill by switching. Also I love the fact that when I don't have Sprint service I get Verizon roaming. So I'm sure there are others out there that are super happy with Sprint as well. Most people make fun of their service like they don't have any service at all but the thing is that their service is actually pretty good at least in my experience. It is definitely acceptable for my needs. I don't think I've dropped a phone call with my Sprint service even one time.

I definitely will argue that. For my area that is so untrue it isn't even fair lol. Sprint in my area means you can barley load data except for very select spots. T-Mobile you're fine.

Very interesting. Wish I had more money and I would have both networks to test. I like T-Mobile but I hate that they're only unlimited now I don't want or using limited I use about 1 GB per month. Only about 10 on WiFi so I definitely don't use much data. That is very interesting fact though speed test in my area pools about 20 on Sprint. I have no idea about T-Mobile it's been so long since I've used them.
