I don't know if this is the correct way of addressing an issue brought up in the podcast call/mail-in, but I didn't see any dedicated section or thread and since Javier was asking specifically about an EVO 4G, I decided to post this here. If an admin thinks or knows a better section for it, please move it.

Javier, you called in with question regarding opening youtube videos embedded in the browser in the youtube app and not the standard flash player, which doesn't do the videos justice. There is currently no fix for that that I know of, however there are two possible workarounds you can use.

First is: use a different browser. Dolphin HD has pretty good I hear, has nice full screen mode and will pop up a window with the options when you hit play on an embedded youtube video.

Second one (the one I use), hold down on the play button, this will open a large pop up menu, hit Copy link URL, then go into the youtube app, hit search and paste in the search window. Then you'll need to scroll back and delete vnd.youtube: from the string, so all you're left with is the raw youtube video code. Hit search and watch.

Hope you find this and it helps and I hope I didn't make any mod mad with this thread. :)

I agree with Javier - one of the things I loved about my Pre was clicking a Youtube video and it taking you directly to the Youtube App. Google needs to add this as an option for their browser.

The HTC Flash Player is annoying.

I bet it would normally open up in a YOUTUBE player if we weren't running HTC sense.

How does the standard Android browser behave in Nexus One and Froyo?

BTW: this works on any "new" Sense phone (Desire, Incredible, Legend).
