December Update to 7.1.1

I fixed the battery drain on my phone by going into my Location settings, selecting the 3 little vertical dots at the top right, selecting Scanning, and disabling the wi-fi and bluetooth scanning options. Made a huge impact on my phone's battery life.

I'm rather annoyed about Night Mode though.
**** Pixel. If it's true that they trashed it on here to make Pixel more sellable, that's frustrating to hear.

I got my update on Thursday but still waiting for my wife's Nexus 6p!! I have 7.1.1 and she's on 7.0 still.

A considerable change. I like it and battery seems to have improved a bit.

If scanning WiFi is disabled does that mean you turn on WiFi every time you get home /office ?

You can still get night mode filter with Twilight app. Includes filter settings and quick settings toggle.

Yes. I turn off wifi every time I leave the home.
Turning off scanning for Wi-Fi is not the same as turning off Wi-Fi.
It just means your phone won't search for new networks.
I keep my Wi-Fi on all the time, but my scanning off, so the phone doesn't waste battery power looking for networks I don't want to use, but still automatically connects to those it already knows.

But how can it connect if it doesn't scan for and see it?
Maybe I'm too stupid for phones, but I feel like if it is able to see a network to connect to, it must be searching for that network.
That takes some energy, so I just disable it to simplify the matter and know that I am in control.

That said, part of that is that if my wifi is disabled and Scan for Network is disabled, it should NOT be trying to determine wifi quality.
