Android Central Question

Hello,

We had a user get a new phone and transferred over all their contacts as they are saved with Outlook.

When the transfer completed, all of the contacts defaulted to the original Phone contact information to be displayed and not the Outlook contact that has extra info, like Work details filled out.

Is there any way to change the default for all contacts at once and not just each individually?

Which phone ?
In your contact app in it's settings, does it give options like?

Phone contact
Google contact
Out look contact
Sim contact

Hello,

I created an account to post to my original question above.

But to answer your question, yes it does look like that. And 'Phone' is set to default for all contacts, which doesn't have the extra information in it. But Outlook, Verizon Cloud, and Google shows the information, but since it isn't the default, that information doesn't load when the contact is clicked.

He moved from a Samsung S7 to a Samsung A51, and the contacts are synced through Outlook primarily. But we did an export of the vcf file and reimported it into the new phone because some contacts didn't fully pull over.

Hi, welcome to AC!

If you set default storage location in settings of contact you should be able select outlook like my screen shotScreenshot_20210519-112934_Contacts.jpg

No worries, I appreciate whatever help on it. I attached a pic of one of the contacts. Like, each contact is defaulted to 'phone' which doesn't have the information of the company that the user likes to see because he can have multiple contacts of the same name, but differentiate them by companies due to contract work and other stuff.

And then you see with Outlook and Verizon, it lists it. So we just ultimately didn't want to manually have to switch it with like 500 contacts each.

Mostly just saying this again to help try and explain the issue some or clarify

I will have to check and play with this later and get back to you on it

In that screenshot you have device selected , choose your outlook account

I know I do in this screenshot. I can select Outlook. And when I do it works. But every contact defaulted to 'device' after the transfer. Is there a way to select 'Outlook' without doing each contact individually for nearly 500 contacts?

Thank you!
