Why is it that we have gone this long where Samsung has not provided a way for a Custom Text Tone to work when receiving the message from an email address?

This is something that iPhone has done for years. When I use to have an iPhone when I set a custom text tone for a contact it did not matter if it was an email address or a telephone number, the tone was set to the custom tone.

There are several apps hosted by Google Play that do provide this feature, but just recently had some issue receiving text messages and had to unstall the app for a bit.

So this brings me back to my point, why does the default messaging app on the Samung (perhaps on Droid O/S) not see a contact custom text tone when using an email address?
