2Terrible, can I download Poweramp from GooglePlay store, or do I download it as an apk from another online source?
Do you guys use a free version or a "pro" version, that you've paid for?
There are a bunch of Poweramp apps in Google Play and not sure which one to download.
I appreciate your help.

Poweramp is the first one to show. However I refuse to use it because it has not been updated in five years, nor will I pay a dev that doesn't support an app.

It hasn't been updated in 2 years, not 5. The link you posted is to the unlocker whereas the actual app is the "Trial" app that is unlocked by the locker. It actually looks like they are soon to roll out a new version overhaul - and it is in beta now. THAT being said - I think that new version has been in beta for at least a few years. I do agree with you - while I do think it is the best sounding app I have (I did pay for it about 5 or 6 years ago) - it is a bit long in the tooth and they are way too slow with updating the app. I remember trying their beta a few years ago and it's still not out.

I now move between a few apps depending on my mood. lol

I see that now. I use rocket player, lots of updates, lots of options.
