Default web browser

The only reason I like third party browsers like dolphin or skyfire is that I can quit the program at any point by holding down the back key. Is there anyway I can do this on the default browser without having to go back through my entire history. I know I can just press the home button but that only minimizes the program to my understanding

You don't need to close or exit with the stock browser. Just hit the Home button to get to your screens, or the Recent app button to switch apps. Like BlackBerry some apps remain open like browser and phone application.
