defect in glass

I finally got my N4 and while sitting on the counter I noticed that in the right light you can see a defect in the glass. You can only really notice it with the screen off and if you catch a reflection the right way. Its almost like there's a dent in the screen but there isnt one. You can see the way the light reflects off of it.

I was curious if any one else has seen this reported. It's right where the unlock button is, more or less. It also is where the phone gets most hot...not sure if that's the cause. It seems like a strange coincidence if it is. It doesn't really negatively effect the use of the device, but it can't be unseen. It bothers the hell out of me though. I'll probably eventually do a warranty claim, just seeing if it's a fluke or known. Thanks

Its probably just a minor dent, nothing worth losing sleep over bud.
I can't see it now... I saw it when the phone was on the qi charger. Now that the phone is cooled down I can't even see it. I worry about this long term though... It looked like someone pressed their thumb down really hard. I'm just paranoid. I got the latest batch and I'm worried about quality control issues from rushed production.

A shot of the screen will show a dent, a screenshot would not. Someone in another thread tried to show a light leak with a screenshot. Hilarity ensued.

what i meant was a shot not a screenshot. :) but i remember that hilarious light bleed screenshot.

Enough of this B.S. spam crap, the phone is great, I'll buy the dwmn thing if it bothers you so much, do you really even own one? Take a picture and post proof of ownership.money more gripes unless you prove ownership.

Its a great phone. It however does have am issue with the screen. Not sure if its only when using the inductive charging, but it's there. Even including that issue, it's the best phone I've used.

I'm not sure if it will show up in a picture but I'll try. You can only see it by shifting it and seeing how the light reflects different.

I know what you're talking about. When you look at glass at a low enough angle, there is a high amount of reflection. I don't have Nexus 4 phone (yet) but I can see this on my Nexus 7 tablet, especially when the tablet is reflecting a window with blinds. The horizontal lines don't appear straight.

All it means is that the display glass isn't perfectly flat. Considering the top glass is the first surface of a multi layered lamination stack, I don't think small variations in flatness are a problem.

I didn't do the exchange for that issue along as I don't feel any difference using it, however it does effect how the on screen buttons look (faint outline). My battery life is horrible. Around 6 hours with 2 hours of screen time... that's what the exchange is for
