Defective Epic Capcitive Buttons

Defective Epic Launch Keys

Guys, I could use some help with the user community. I just swapped out my Evo for an Epic. I love this phone but it seems that I need to seriously mash the launch buttons on the front to get any kind of response. I loved that I would only gently touch the Evo's buttons to have phone working, this really concerns me about the Epic. Are these buttons supposed to be touch sensitive and maybe I just have a defective device? Please help!

This has been my experience and that of several others. The buttons are certainly less sensitive than the Evo's (which I personally think are too sensitive), but there are people here that indicate theirs are working fine. Perhaps is that we compare to the Evo and realize this are not as sensitive. Mine work but I have to really pay attention to press correctly and firmily, especially the back key.

The back key is the worst, and seems to give me the most problems as well. I didn't mind the Evo's buttons but this is night a day nightmare when contrasting the two devices.

I got mine replaced yesterday. After trying out the demo unit in the store, there was definitely something wrong with my phone. The capacitive buttons on this new one are worlds better. They all register with a slight tap just like they should. No more mashing or pressing 5 times.

There are definitely defective units out there. I swapped mine out today and the capacitive buttons are definitely better. Still not Evo like, but acceptable. Also the phone is much more solid feeling. I didn't realize the camera button could be used to focus. This also didn't work on my original Epic.
