Definitely July! [edit]

You know this how? Or just another one of your stories? Lol

Well, we could use more deductive measurement logic to ascertain the correct screen size if someone has a link to one of the leaked pictures of the Bionic and it's hopefully flat. Simply measure the picture, then subtract the amount of non-screen space in the photo and that is your non-screen space ratio. Then apply that ratio to 4.92 inches.

That was to oxn not you I hope if it is 4.5 that they trim the bezel to keep it under 5inch overall that would be awesome.

I think the Droid X is ~5 inches, so 4.92 inches wouldn't necessarily mean a 4.5 inch screen.

Aw, I didn't think you were referring to me. :) All I was saying is that with 4.92 inches total top to bottom, a 4.5 inch screen is possible. However, we need to know the ratio of screen to total length. It doesn't matter what size picture is used, once turned into a ratio the ratio can simply be applied to 4.92 inches.

Not a lot of Pocketnow readers i see.

Well a Motorola device with Band 13 LTE support just went through the FCC! Motorola Droid Bionic Swings By FCC With Its LTE Radio?

They didn't post the FCC ID or a link to the page. But i'm sure one of you knows how to get it.

To quote soapinmouth over at HoFo:

"Looks like it passed fcc and confidentiality ends early august. So july 28 sounds pretty solid!"

I'm starting to get a little excited... :)

Well, after finding one of the leaked pics of the redesigned Bionic, there's no way the screen is 4.5 inches. There's just too much space above and below it. And the math for ratios fails utterly and completely. However, the pic I used wasn't perfectly flat at all.

Excuse me if I sound ignorant, but wouldn't confidentiality end at launch, i.e. July 28th? And whose confidentiality are we talking about?

Usually they can make it end after because then it doeant matyer if it gets revealed since the phone will be out by then. They can change the confidentiality at anytime.

i'm just a dumb, dumb, dummy, so don't listen to me. after all, i've learned not to listen to myself.:D but i would guess the extra 10 days gives them a cushion in the event the phone is delayed. like that would happen. not to THIS phone, anyway. :p

and i would venture a guess the confidentiality agreement would be with the FCC. i would think they'd have one with anyone Moto/VZW would send the phone to, in an effort to either reduce the likelihood of leaks or to receive some kind of compensation should they incur damages from leaks

Generally, they want the government spoiling their unveiling, so look for it either the 28th of July or the 4th of August....

Likely you'll official VZW/Moto material relating to the Bionic around the 14th...
