Delayed Gmail notifications fix?

Just got the S 22 ultra. Still get deleted Gmail notification if the phone is idle for more than five minutes. If it's on charge or I recently said it down under five minutes Gmail notifications come through as normal.

When it's been sitting for more than five minutes I'll pick my phone up and within a few seconds, all my Gmail notifications come through at once. Sometimes up to 5 to 10 depending on how many emails I got in that time period. Rather annoying if you're trying to run a business with your phone and email.

This is well documented with a Google search. Does anyone have a fix for this yet other than having to hack your phone to disable doze?

I've had that issue on every phone: HTC, Pixel, Samsung, and nothing really works. I've tried giving Gmail unrestricted battery use, unrestricted data usage, but there always seems to be a delay? My previous employer had their email set up through Gmail, and the messages would come in faster and on time when set up through the Outlook app! I'd love to know a fix too!

Do you happen to have Verizon for a carrier? Or use Verizon Towers for something? It seems like people with Verizon like me are more apt to have this problem.

This problem has been going on for years with Android and there is no fix. Download Aqua Mail and your Gmail notifications will come in right away.
Gmail it's self = fuggedaboutit

I used to run the below as a batch file on my Pixel 2XL to turn off Doze. It has been a while, but I think I needed to run it after every power off/on. Had to plug the phone into the computer and dbl click the file.

adb devices
adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
pause

This was for the exact same reason when I was still working. Notifications would not come through until I woke up the phone.

May have to do that. Do you find aqua mail sinks really well with the Gmail server? I've tried a few others but none of them sync well. For example, you read a email on your computer or laptop and it still shows unread on your phone.

Yes, I also used to run this on my Galaxy S20U and now on my S22U, without running it after a re-boot my notifications are delayed when the screen is off...

I have this issue. Have been for years. I have Verizon. When I was using straight talk just to try out the service with the same phone I had no issue.

I’m not sure…. I’ve only ever used Verizon except for when I tried straight talk for 30 days. When I used the straight talk I had no delay issues at all. Went back to Verizon and the issues started again.

You might be on to something I think some of other users were on Verizon also , have to wait until they chime in .

Did you get a new Sim card with each phone? I've had a few people tell me that getting a new Sim card fixed the problem.

Yes, on Verizon. I had the issue on my Pixel 2 as noted above. For the last year or more though, I did not have it and did not have to run that batch file. I am not sure if my S22 is going into Doze mode or not. So far I have not run the batch file on this phone. But that may just be that I have not noticed needing it. I recently retired and no longer am always looking for emails immediately after they are sent. I will look for the tell tale signs of it happening when I wake up my phone and see.

I don't think it's doze I have it under battery optimize and they come in right away TMO or Att I have a feeling something on your guys end Possible any 3rd party application installed like AOD notify or similar that people use

It is 100% doze. When you hook your phone to a computer and disable doze it stops until the next reboot.

You can take it out of doze like i shown , i never disabled doze with adb command and come through, how you explain this one?

You know a lot more than me about this stuff, so maybe. I just wonder if it was not Doze, why would running that batch file fix it?
