Delayed text/pic messages from Verizon user

I have the Skyrocket on AT&T and my girlfriend has the iPhone 4S on Verizon. Sometimes her text messages are delayed several hours! I've received texts up to 10 hours late and also duplicate messages received hours late! I also sometimes don't get a picture message she's sending and then when she re-sends it I do get it the second time.

Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this? Would it help going to my AT&T store?

This is the result of the cross-over between networks, Verizon, a CDMA network and AT&T is a GSM. I too have experienced issues when texting or MMS'ing other people on other networks, it's just how it is. GSM to GSM is the same as CDMA to CDMA for messaging. Nothing you can really do.
