Delete all on stock email application

How can I select all emails in my inbox or trash folder with one or two taps and not have to select each one separately?

To my knowledge you can't in the stock email (or Gmail) app, you have to do it from the PC or a third party app (although I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I switched to K-9 Mail just for that feature.
