Delete Contacts? Is there an easy way?

I have a ton of duplicate contacts. I deleted many of them from my phone only to find the next day... they were back.
Today, I went on Verizon's cloud, spent a couple hours and deleted the duplicates from there. Now, what I'd like to do is EASILY delete ALL my contacts from my phone and then import my contacts from the Verizon cloud.
Anyone have any suggestions? Apps? I called Verizon help and they were basically useless. Thanks.

1. Export the contacts in a way that you can import them to Google contacts.

2. Import them to Google contacts on a pc browser.

3. Google contacts on the web has excellent duplicate detection.

4. Turn off Verizon backup assistant sync and turn on Google contact sync.
