Hello,
I recently received a warranty exchanged Verizon LG G4. I went to the Verizon store to buy a case, and the rep there told me not to let the phone install the newest update available because it makes the phone keep restarting, which is actually why I received a new phone, my G3 did the update and it kept restarting. Long story short, the catch is I already have downloaded it, I just haven't installed it yet. Is there a way to delete it without being rooted? I read somewhere that I can delete the cache in system recovery and that will solve it, but wasn't sure if that would actually delete the downloaded update or not? Obviously, there is no harm in deleting the cache, I am simply wondering if this will in fact work. Is there also a way to prevent the phone from looking for an update? Can I simply disable the system update app?
Thanks!

The update will not cause bootloop. Bootloop was cause by a hardware issue. You're safe.
