Delete incorrect email address from Gmail app History

[Android Central Question]

I used an incorrect contact email address in my gmail app on my J7 and in my Samsung contacts.
I have deleted the incorrect contact with the incorrect address and created a new contact but the Gmail App is still offering the incorrect one and will not offer or allow me to use the new contact.
The new contact is also in my Google contacts.
