Deleted Email Reappearing In Inbox

Help!! I've just spent an hour deleting over 600 email messages. The number on my inbox went from 957 to 342. Less than 5 minutes later all the deleted email were back in my inbox. What am I doing wrong? I noticed that my Trash folder initially had 1, 000 then went up to 1105, now it's back to 100. Should I permanently deleted the Trash folder?

What email service do you use? (Outlook? GMail?) There may be settings within the provider that leaves copies of messages on the server, and maybe when you delete locally (in the Note) the next sync pushes them down again? Just a thought of something to explore.
