I got the android s7, and recently I deleted a number of photos from my gallery (I don t have any auto backup or sync turned on either) but despite deleting them, when I go to any app to upload a picture from my gallery, like uploading to Facebook or sending a picture in Skype, those pictures still show up as being able to be uploaded even though I ve deleted them from my gallery. how do I fix this?

Welcome to the forums. I'm curious if those apps are able to read the app cache of the Gallery. I would try clearing the Gallery cache and see if that fixes it.

That's my guess, you are seeing the cached thumbnail images. As mentioned above, try clearing the Gallery cache in the Settings > Applications.

And are you sure that Google Photos isn't automatically updating when you are in range of Wi-Fi. Google Photos is set to auto-update on Wi-Fi by default, so unless you specifically and internationally disabled the GP auto-update features, that may explain it to. The Gallery app can pull from GP if you enabled it to.

I have the same issue, I tried this, but it doesn't resolve the issue for some reason...

Also, I'm 100% sure Photos isn't syncing. I don't backup my stuff on the cloud
