I deleted all my photos from "recents" thinking it would not delete from albums. I used Dr fone
Which found 420 out of 1300. My gallery has no photos or no albums
When i plug ph into pc it shows all my named albums but no photos. I have been told forget i have lost them. If tge scan found 420 i feel they are still there
Anyone got any ideas

[I moved this to the s21 Forums]

Definitely didn't have Google photos back up on? Any app cleaners or Antivirus apps maybe deleted them?

You would need to be rooted before this happened because once u root it will delete data and further give u less of a chance.

Yeah strange, i would stop by a repair shop see maybe something they can see in person or offer a suggestion.

It may be that the memory where the deleted photos were residing has already been overwritten. Those programs like Dr. Fone can only do so much.

I have an S21 Ultra. When I go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Storage > Trash it shows me all the recent things I have deleted in Messages, Gallery and Calendar. I can recover any of those items.

As I mentioned before, a lot of them may have already been overwritten in the normal activity of the phone.

You checked most of the places that were mentioned earlier in the thread if they not there and you tried a 3rd party application like dr phone that supposedly retrieve those back , unfortunately nothing more here we can talk about you probably have to pay big money to forensic type place to try get those back which probably be lot of money , only thing i can say going forward make multiple back ups everyday for anything important so this doesn't happen again.

I think it's similar to what happens on a PC. If you delete a file on a PC, you're not actually erasing the whole file, but rather the index of where the file is. Once that index is erased, the sectors where the actual file data is saved can be used again by whatever file operations are needed by the system. On a phone, data is frequently being refreshed and written, both by the system and by apps, so the memory where the file information is stored can get easily overwritten.
