Deleted sms messages

I have a samsungs galaxy s3 now.My question is.I used to have a samsung galaxy s1 and when I went to delete my text messages they would delete.But if u went under contacts on my phone u could still read about 20 words of the text message that I deleted and I would have to go there and permantly delete them.My question is I have a new samsung galaxy s3 now that I just got will my messages be deleted from my phone permantly or will they still be in my contacts like my old phone and I have to go there and delete them.

I suppose you're referring to the "History" feature when viewing a contact? Yeah, that looks like a bug to me - even though you delete a thread in the Messaging app, that content remains behind in the Contacts app.

It may be that if you clear the system cache in Recovery mode or something like that, that you can get rid of the History content. I'll see what I can find out.
