Hello all. Both my wife and I are new to Android over the last couple days.

I grabbed a Captivate yesterday and she just got an Aria. One of the things we're having an issue with on her phone is not being able to delete apps she just downloaded from the store. I did try to search the Aria thread as well as the threads that came up when i tried posting this one but there wasn't anything close.

She's going crazy trying to find ring-tones and what not and if she doesn't like them she tries to delete them buy holding down on the Icon and then dragging down to the "REMOVE" area... (same as on the Captivate and probably all android devices i assume) problem is when she goes back in to the Apps section of the phone they're still there.

Do you need to get an uninstaller for Apps? I trashed a bunch off my Captivate and they deleted just fine... well except for AT&T's crapware of course.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Go to the market and download uninstaller. Works for all android phones so your captivate included. Simple one touch delete. Thats the easiest way but if you want to go through the official android way go to settings->applications->manage applications and chose the app you want to delete. But uninstaller much more faster. Hope your wife enjoys her aria as much as I do!

Yes, the "manage applications" utility does that for you. If you just drag down to "remove", it just takes them off the home page, but leaves them installed.
