Deleting items from "My Files"

Hi there. I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. It's worked extremely well since I bought it but I'm noticing that it's starting to show down and even lag and freeze up sometimes. I use the built in Device Maintenance app and it works for a little while but I feel like there are things in the My Files section that need to be cleaned out. The problem is that I don't know what I can get rid of and what I need to leave alone. Can anyone help me figure out what to do? I would greatly appreciate any help!

"My Files" is just a file explorer app, like Windows File Explorer and Mac Finder on computers.

The general rule is, if you did not put the file on the phone then you should not delete it.

The obvious places to look are your media files:
music
videos
photos
documents

All your social media apps tend to put their saved files in separate folders.

Try also wiping the cache partition, which can sometimes help with performance issues. Your personal data will not be affected. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-35597
