Deleting Text Messages - 5 taps, really?

Does anyone know if the developers are going to address the text message delete experience? I'm tired of having to tap my phone 5 times just to delete a single message. Or, maybe I'm missing something? I've been searching for a place to give feedback because I really enjoy the software and want it to be better.

Are you trying to delete an actual thread or a single text within a thread? Either way, you can just long press on the text or thread you want to delete and wait for the pop-up giving you the ability to delete.

Open messages app>open thread>long press message to delete>press delete.

I count four, and that's from the homescreen.
