Delivery date question.

I just got my FedEx tracking number. Delivery next Tuesday. Coming from TX.
Interesting note - "Per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until the scheduled delivery date."

I placed two pre-orders on the 26th: one for a Z Flip5 and one for a Tab S9+. No action on the Flip5 order, but I did get return address notice from Samsung on the Tab S9+ (printed it) and a notice from FedEx that they have a package from TX in transit. Based on size and weight, I am sure it is the Tab S9+.
FedEx is showing on its tracking site that they have it in hand with shipper instruction to deliver on Aug 8.
Samsung probably had higher volume of Flip5 orders, so might be another day or two to see action on that order.

Just received the Fedex notice that I'm scheduled to receive a ZF5 on August 8th.
We've been with Samsung for at least 11 or 12 years and Android before that with other brands, but we switched to Apple at the beginning of January.
We had 2 S22 U's ( mine and wife's) ansy ZF4. When I saw the good trade ins I bought a ZF5 and traded in my ZF4.
I won't even open it when it gets here, I'll just turn it around and give someone a great deal on a brand new, unopened ZF5 with a full factory warranty for a few hundred dollars less than retail.

Great. I'm hoping to get notification soon. Would be nice to get it before the 11th.
Just got notice that my Flip 5 will be delivered on Tuesday, August 8. Ordinarily that would be great.
However I will be gone for a few days. I was hoping to manage my delivery by sending it to my son's house but FedEx said that I couldn't alter anything due to Samsung's instructions. I was able to put a vacation hold on my FedEx account however. So if that works I will get it on Friday. If not I don't know how it will work. Would they try delivering everyday? I hope not. Maybe I'll get a notice to go pick it up somewhere.

Well, small update. Checked the Samsung orders page today and there was Return Label created for the Flip4 - Flip5 trade-in. Printed that off. If all progresses similar to the Tab S9+, I sorta expect to get a notice from FedEx later today that a package is on the way.
FEDEX should make 3 attempts to deliver and I believe would be 3 consecutive days.
I'm so bummed. Haven't seen any activity on my order.
I take that back - I see the return label is available and needs to be returned by 8/12 even though it still shows my delivery as 8/11.

Mine has too.
I spoke to Samsung yesterday and they said the return label becomes active on 8/12, not that my trade-in needs to be back to them by that date. If the phone comes sooner, that date for the label would change.

I ordered through AT&T. Just received shipping details today. Phone should be here on Monday. Sometimes carriers will ship sooner than Samsung.

I am curious. Some people have received their phones already. Others are getting them earlier than me. Mine is supposed to be here Tuesday. Anyone have any idea why some get it earlier than others? Is it because they live closer to the distribution site? Or perhaps they were the 1st to place their pre-order? I just don't get it. I placed my pre-order within in hours of the announcement and I live in Toledo, OH. Is there any logic to this?

Don't know if there is any real discernable logic behind the early arrival dates, other than "one-offs." For the most part, within the USA, it seems Samsung uses FedEx to pickup/deliver/trade-in return electronics ordered direct from Samsung. Observational experience over the past 3-4 years has been that for the earliest orders, Samsung will have FedEx pickup roughly a week before the "release date" with shipper instructions to hold packages and not deliver any earlier than a specific date (usually 2-3 days prior to the announced release date).
Just speculating here, but I'm guessing that earlier arrivals ore due to either FedEx overlooking the "not-earlier-than" delivery instructions, or the order is with a third party who chooses not to honor Samsung's embargo dates, or a few received early delivery for review purposes.
