Poor bedside experience
i found the nice "dimming" screen useful as a bedside alarm.
The screen produces quite a lot of light when running the dock app. (Download an app from the market called Night Clock, to compare.) This is primarily because of the icons along the bottom, which I don't need when I'm sleeping. There's no way to hide or remove these icons.
There's a notification that will pop up and make a sound telling you that the battery is fully charged. This notification cannot be disabled. It does not use the standard Android notification mechanism. Rather, a modal dialog box appears in the middle of the screen, obscuring and dimming the clock. This box makes the screen produce even more light, further reducing the clock's utility as a bedside clock.
The battery charges so slowly, that, if you remove the phone from the dock for a minute, and then return it to the dock, the "battery fully charged" notification won't show for 15 minutes. Few people will fall asleep that quickly. If you've been using the phone to read in bed, it'll take a couple of hours to fully charge, at which point you may be awoken by the bright light and notification.
The dock has a blue LED that can light up your whole room, and the phone's LED, which switches to blue once the phone is charged, is nearly as bright.
The phone rests on the volume down button while it's in the dock. If you press down at all on the phone while the phone is in the dock, of while you're inserting the phone into the dock, you turn the ringer volume to 0, immediately.
