My phone cant hold a charge so i am getting it replaced by google. the problem is i have very important family photos and videos that to me are worth more than the phone itself.
I have two questions:

1)Can i remove the motherboard without leaving any signs that i opened the phone(thus not voiding the warrenty)???

2)Having done so, how can i copy the data from the flash memory???

I am very desperate here:'(:'(:'(

Depends what you mean by "won't hold a charge." If you mean your device had complete hardware failure and will not turn on whatsoever, you proper furked. If you can power it on while plugged in then just plug it into a computer via usb, go into settings, developer options (if you haven't enabled yet...settings<about phone<hit build number 7 times...now it will be above about phone in settings), enable usb debugging. You may have to download the N4 drivers on your pc if it doesn't automatically (google that : ), but in my computer you should now see Nexus 4. Click it<internal storage<DCIM<Camera...that's where all your pictures are stored.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking you in the first boat. This is why you should always have some sort of cloud auto upload enabled. Removable storage fails too, so even on those devices. Google+ is free, dropbox gives plenty free to start, Box give 50GB...a ton...to any LG device for free, etc. etc. and you just select WiFi only and forget about it. Not to mention you don't need to have that space used up on the device and you can access from any pc.

Yea, if you can turn it on while plugged in you should be fine, but since that would be too easy, it is likely that you can't even turn it on.

Unfortunately if the device will not turn on......there's nothing that can really be done. you can't take the flash memory out of the N4 and attach it to another computer or phone.

It's an awful feeling and I've lost that kind of data once (half of a holiday's worth of pictures, gone forever). Learning to keep backups and multiple copies of everything was a really tough lesson that day.

Again, I'm really sorry. I know your feeling right now.

Sorry for your troubles, but there are daily threads on here similar to yours. When you get your new phone, set up auto sync for your pictures to Google+. It's free and you wont find yourself in this predicament again.
