I recently developed an android game and submitted it to play store, but it seems thats not sufficient for it to be downloded by people.
I can see that the daily installs are quite low.
How can i increase the download of the apps or make it popular

You have to promote your game, paid ads work best for this if you can. The free way is more difficult. Do you have a website?

I am just looking into this myself too, not an expert at all but social networks can be used (like facebook, twitter), android forums can be used. It is however, a lot of work to follow up. There are also reviewer sites where you can submit your application. If you get lucky, they may review it and this increases visibility from what I read. I cannot give specific links sorry, I am a new member.

Along with above comments, here is what I found something new. You can promote your game without wasting your precious time and get number of downloads, reviews, keyword optimization and number of other stuff.
