Developer Edition - Available April 19th

It isn't just AT&T. The store reports that it isn't supported on the HTC One.

So even though you activated without a sim card and tried to download Google Wallet without being connected to the AT&T network ever, the Play store prevents you from installing the Wallet. So I guess we have to hope Google will certify this phone for Wallet. I think I will contact HTC after I get my phone (supposed to be tomorrow!)

Did you get the 25GB Dropbox storage though?

Let me get this straight, you guys ordered the DE from the HTC website right because I only see contract phone from Letstalk. How long will the shipping take? I bought the One full price from ATT but I want the 64 gb now. Also, will the DE work on ATT LTE network?
The DE does work on AT&T LTE. I just activated mine in an AT&T store. They even gave me their insurance on it!

The order fulfillment is done via LetsTalk.

Exactly

Yes I did, I'm up to 106gb now.

How'd did you get it? A lot of people haven't been able to get it on the AT&T model, including myself. Not a big deal since I already have 50GB. Was dropbox preinstalled on the developer model?

It was. As I stated earlier, I booted the phone up with no SIM in it. I went through the initial set up process and it never asked me to select a carrier, probably because I had no SIM anyway. Either way, it brings you to the screen to input account info and I gave it my dropbox login info and that was it. I did all of this in advance of bringing it to the AT&T store to get a SIM and to get it activated.

Ah, got you. But I wonder if it needs to be preinstalled anyhow because it's not on the AT&T model so it wouldn't be an option at setup. So I wonder if someone just set everything up on Wifi without their SIM, go to the playstore and download the app and login from there, would they get the storage. Makes me want to try to do a factory restore just to see LOL.

Got it. Worried that the signal strength is not as good as the AT&T version (which I also have). It also switches between LTE and HSPA+ often. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same.

I'm in N VA/DC. I have seen LTE walking around outside, but not in my office.

Adrian, What did they have to do in the at&t store to activate it? Wouldn't just placing an at&t SIM card in it be all that's necessary? I guess maybe they had to do something extra because it was a new SIM card and they had to activate it with your phone number etc.?

I went in during lunch today and got a new AT&T sim card provisioned and was done in 30min after porting my number over.

Oh, ok. You had to port a number from another carrier then. That explains it. Thanks.

I read somewhere it has to be pre-installed to get the extra 23 gigs. The unfair part is, if it *is* pre-installed and you choose AT&T as carrier during setup, that kills your chance of getting the extra 23 gigs too.

This is likely what happened to me but they will not get away with that. I wrote Dropbox do I hope they fix it.

I don't know if I actually had to. I was coming from an iPhone 4s which didn't have LTE. I heard conflicting reports about whether or not I'd need a new SIM for an LTE plan. Since there's an AT&T store walking distance from my office I just went over. I also wanted to get confirmation that I'd keep my unlimited data plan even though I'm not renewing my contract and moving to an LTE plan. That was all true. The bonus was that the guy let me add AT&T insurance to my unlocked DE phone, which I'm pretty sure he wasn't supposed to do.

Do you guys think it's better to activate my 32gb unlocked One with a Tmo sim or AT&T? I'm only asking coz I don't want any features disabled by the carrier.

Also, the phone will be used in India after the first 2 months, so will the features that are disabled by carriers get enabled again? Thanks

So apparently UPS tried to deliver my One Developers Edition today. LetsTalk forced me to send it to my billing address (home, which I'm never at during the day), so I was hoping it would come FedEx which has an easy pick up place for me in the evenings, but it came UPS so I've had to use the MyShip address change option ($5) to get it delivered to work, hopefully tomorrow. The sad thing is my wife was actually at the house this morning, and she was on a conference call with some of us at the office and I heard the doorbell ring over the phone, and I thought to myself well there's no way that's UPS with my phone because surely I would have received a notice it was on its way ... Then I check my email and there's the UPS notice that first attempt made arrgghhh!! Oh well, at least it's here this week, I'd already resigned myself to next Monday.

Why didn't UPS leave the package? I did a chat with UPS support this morning and they confirmed that my shipment didn't have signature required so they should just leave it, no?

i've been in the "picking" stage since friday night, said should ship yesterday, still have not received notification it has shipped yet :(
