So today I took the plunge and ordered a subsidized Moto X from Verizon which the unlimited data glitch. If it indeed all works out, is there any reason why I couldn't sell the subsidized phone and keep the developer edition rather than returning it? If Verizon "fixes" the glitch and the phone is never activated under my account, would it affect my unlimited data anyway? Between selling the subsidized X and my old RAZR Maxx I could pretty much break even with the cost of the developer edition.

No. You would still be locked into a contract. Activating the phone has nothing to do with it. The contract is for the plan. Pretty positive.

Edit. Just saw your ordered when the Verizon site was allowing it. If it goes through yes you can sell the phone. You can always sell the phone it's the contract they care about. But if you kept unlimited yes. Sell. Then put the developer edition on your account.

Awesome. Hopefully this all goes through. I would love to have a $200 developer edition rather than a $700 one. I initially was going to just return the dev edition but the white on the back has grown on me and I don't want to give up the 32 gigs of storage...
