Device Issues after 2.2

Hey gang, I tried searching to see if anyone is having the same issues after the update, but the search isn't very helpful. If there's a duplicate post I apologize.

I've tried a factory reset and that didn't work. Any suggestions for a fix or a way to revert back to 2.1 will be much appreciated!

Issues:
Backing out of apps randomly puts me on the 2nd home screen to the right (when the app im using is on the main screen)

Some text messages sent to my phone will prompt an alert but I dont see the message.

When booting the phone, the screen is unresponsive. I have to turn the screen off then back on (sometimes more than once) to get it working.

When charging and the screen is off, it will randomly turn the screen on.

Accelerometer/ G-sensor seems to stick. changing the orientation will sometimes require tapping the device to make it switch. Calibrating the G-Sensor doesn't fix. (Most noticeable on Google Sky as the orientation barely tracks like it used to)

I'm not trying to go on a rant here. I love my phone, but since the update its been starting to annoy me. I'd like to try to fix without root before contacting VZW about a replacement.

Thank you all in advance.

thanks, I'm starting to think that my device may be going bad. I was hoping that I might be able to flash back to 2.1 and see if things improve but I haven't found a way of doing that yet.

I have a app call "doggcatcher" that automatically turns my screen on during active downloads. Maybe you have a app from the market place that needs the screen on for a moment? Some times apps from the market place can cause some weird problems, I've ran into them my self. Such as auto scrolling, it got so bad I literally couldn't control my phone. I barely got it to uninstall the app and it worked.

The text message error to my knowledge was also in Android 2.1.

I can only think you have a faulty device since your g-sensor isn't working properly. I cant think of any other reason.

You can flash back to 2.1 but it requires rooting and s-off'ing your phone first because you have to roll back in revision your radio and android version.

I have this issue as well. I too have done the factory reset as well.

thanks for the suggestion, but I'm afraid if I root my phone then I wouldn't be able to get a replacement if it is indeed defective.

I think I'll just take it down to the VZW store and see where it goes from there.

I have to reset my sensor every time I go to go use google sky, doesn't really bother me. I have had the screen be unresponsive (erratic is more like it) when trying to unlock the phone sometimes. I have to relock and unlock it to get it to work. Annoying but that seems to have gone away mostly with 2.2. It happened all the time if I was on my bed though. Sometimes rubbing the camera in the back helped before trying to unlock the phone (grounding issue most likely).

(Off topic a little) ..It would be helpful if somehow we could list all of
Our apps in our profile to see if any common offenders like task killers
are in the list

So anyway, are you running any task killers ?
If so, get rid of them
