Device Maintenance App?

Just received my 2XL and so far I'm pleased with it. That said, does anyone know of an app similar to the Note 8's "Device Maintenance" for the 2 XL?

The Pixels don't need 'device maintenance.' Not laden by bloat or alterations to pure android, they are the Energizer bunny of smooth.

So no need to optimize the memory, close unused apps, etc to maximize performance? A former Samsung user so forgive my ignorance.

Nope :). The only thing I do is clear apps from the recent apps list -- mainly because I just don't want 50 apps in the list. I keep the ones I frequent in there though.

If you're looking for a file storage managing/organizing app, Google just released (looks like in beta form) Files Go. I'm going to try it out, but it's supposed to help you manage your apps, media, files, etc.

Files Go

Files Go is actually a pretty good little file cleaner. Helps get rid of duplicate files, old junk, etc. It's not a powerful file manager that can navigate file systems, but it's a simple app that has a simple goal.

Just looked at Files Go, it does almost nothing. I recommend ES File Explorer Pro. ES File Explorer allows you to access/copy/paste/delete/cleanup your files not just on the device but in the cloud and on your LAN. One tip, in Settings/Display make sure you uncheck New Layout. New Layout is unusable but the old layout is exactly what you want for a file browser.

I stay away from ES explorer because its a bloatware fest. I used to use Es but then i moved t Solid explorer

I've used ES File Explorer before. I wanted to see what Files Go can do, and it doesn't have to be as extensive as ES. I've not had a chance to try Files Go yet...I know I know, I could be looking at it instead of posting, so.... :p

you dont need device maintenance app in pixel because pixel is really smooth and never slow down.
This is a problem with Samsung devices since its bloated and run slow after few months.

my wife's original pixel still works like a charm after 1 year with no slowness. she never have used any of the maintanance app.

the only think u might need is app cache cleaner IF your device is running LOW On STORAGE for that u can use the go file app, linked above. besides that you dont need them at all.

i clean cache for some apps if needed by going to settings-->storage-->other apps--> this list apps with large cache usage at top.

since i have 128 gb storage i dont bother with it since cache will make the app faster to load and save you some data

Files Go is really just a simple app that can clear up some junk.. duplicate files, app cache, large files and downloads. Nothing ground breaking but it's a really easy to understand interface. For someone who's not really comfortable poking around at files, I can see its value.

Plus, its not some sketchy as all get up third party app looking to get you to purchase a useless tuner utility.

Files Go sounds like what I am looking for. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
