Device not found

Had to return to stock because of a force close loop that I was stuck in. Now trying to re-root using one click, I keep getting device not found. I've never had this problem before. Instead of the device showing as a removable flash drive, it is now showing as a CD-rom drive. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and have used all USB ports. Really at a loss here and could use some guidance.

Thanks in advance

You could do DX's Odin packages to get back ur root. That way than u can run ur titanium backup or whichever u used.

I thought of that as well, which I will probably wind up doing, but, that won't fix the computer not recognizing my phone. Is there something I can do to fix that as well?

Are you using USB debugging? It's required for the root to work. If it shows up as a CD-Rom drive that's usually the problem to the best of my knowledge.

same problem here

I'm having almost the same issue where my computer says "unknown device"
as the OP said, I've also installed, reinstalled my drivers, used every other usb port, i even went as far as formatting my entire computer and reinstalling all of my computer drivers cuz i thought my usb drivers were screwed up but it recognizes other devices.
I've used Odin for 4 months now with no problems before... i was even able to odin the new radio last week.
I've read through DroidXcon's threads a couple of times over and figured it had to be a power issue since my laptop is a little old.
Used my wife's brand new computer with the same results
Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread, but I figured it was a similar enough issue to post here.

EDIT: Havent tried heimdall, will attempt when i get home from work. But considering where I am with my issue, will I be able to even try heimdall? (I don't get home for 7 more hours, just trying to cover as much i can)

i havent... i will give it a try and report back

If that doesn't work, then go into menu=>settings=>applications=>development and uncheck usb debugging.

Go back to menu and go settings=>usb settings and choose on demand instead of mass storage. Then go back and turn usb debugging on and try again.

uninstall the drivers, reboot your computer, reinstall drivers, pull out the battery of your phone connect it, put your phone into download mode and let the composite drivers install...then unplug pop your battery back in , turn on the phone, throw it in debugging mode. and connect and see if it configures

how exactly do you uninstall a driver? I dont think I have actually ever done that before!

just open up the drivers again, i think a window will pop up asking to repair or modify, i think if you select modify it gives you an option to uninstall

ok... did that all, and my phone now connects and odin also picks it up as well. However, the CD Drive (E:) is still showing up (in addition to the removable F:). Is there a reason for this?

Its funny, thats what she said lol

Yeah you definitely got lucky to find a great and understanding woman who allows you to spend as much time as you do here. We should all do a contribution to your macchiato fund strictly so you can take her out for a really nice evening on us as our way to thank her.
