Device software updated and now won't accept password to unlock

The software was updated on my samsung 6s, and it will not let me unlock it with my fingerprint until I unlock it first with my password. It does not accept my password, and tells me after 15 attempts it will be set back to factory defaults.

Man I performed this update today and I'm having the same problem! I even tried changing my google password and restarting my phone, but it's still not accepting the password. Anyone with a solution?

It's not asking for your Google Password. When you first setup fingerprint lock, it asks you for a backup password. That's the one you should be entering. This is going to happen everytime you shut down the phone.
