So my free Dex has finally arrived. Trying to connect it to my Dell 2007WFP monitor to save buying a second screen. Got a full 1080p HDMI to VGA Video Converter Adapter Cable Male to Male D-SUB 15 Pin M/M Full 1080P with 3.5mm Audio Output One-way Signal Converter-1.8m/6f as the monitor can switch between two feeds, BUT...
I get the error message - Input signal out of range, change the setting to 1680 1050 60Hz but it's already at that. I've also tried updating my graphics card driver.

Any help appreciated:confused:

Not sure how you updated the graphics driver on the phone or how you say the resolution is already set to that... If you're getting that error in your monitor then it's expecting a 1680x1050 signal, and the DeX station can only output a resolution of 1920x1080 signal. There's no way to change that in the phone. If the monitor doesn't support a FHD signal (as the error message suggests), then the monitor cannot be used with DeX. If your monitor, however, does support it and you just need to change the resolution in it, then refer to your monitor's settings to make it match 1920x1080.

Thanks a lot for all that and no I was updating the driver on the PC just in case it helped??????
I'll check for 1920x1080 tomorrow.

What's an FHD signal?

Looks like new monitor required. Free Dex not so free. It doesn't look like my old dell goes any higher than 1680x1050
Thanks for the help though.

Or jump on any 4K TV Black Friday Deal :) I saw one for 150 bucks for a 55" TV at WalMart. Insane.
